  一、教学内容

  1.教材:人教版(XX年12月出版)新目标英语(go for it!)七年级下册第九单元it’s raining第二课时。

  2.学习内容:

  (1)国家、城市以及城市的天气。

  (2)形容词和动名词表达天气状况。

  (3)构词法:名词词尾加y变成形容词。

  二、学生分析

  1.通过学习七年级地理和新目标英语七年级上(XX年3月出版)unit 13 where is your pen pal from?,学生已经掌握了世界五大洲及主要国家的地理位置。他们基本懂得用英文表达并书写国家及城市的名字。更重要的是,经过近一年的任务型语言教学的训练,大部分学生已经养成良好的英语学习习惯,能够在课堂上听懂老师的全英文指令,并且能够根据老师的要求用目标语言完成各项任务。四人小组或二人小组成员有良好的合作意识,能够迅速有效地开展各项活动。

  2.通过近一年的信息技术课以及半年的网络课程的学习和操作,作为网络班的学生(两个学生共用一台学生电脑),大部分学生都熟悉基本的电脑操作,能够浏览网页并选取有用的信息。

  3.天气的表达对学生来说是第一次出现的新语言。学生需要描述世界各地的天气状况和气温状况,新单词比较多,学生在记忆这些新单词时可能有一定的难度。因此教会他们运用构词法记忆单词在这节课显得犹为重要。

  三、设计思想

  1.天气这个话题与现实生活密切相关。很多学生有看电视天气预报的习惯。所以学生对这个话题涉及到的相关背景知识十分熟悉,如天气情况的图示等。因此,本课时主要运用任务型语言教学法。让学生通过小组合作完成两个任务达到学习目标语言的目的。一是在专业的天气预报网站查找各个城市的天气情况并做记录。二是根据记录的天气信息做一个天气报告,而其他同学在听报告的过程中要记录他们所听到的信息。

  2.在完成任务之前,还有一个语言输入的过程。而这个过程将通过图片展示引出新单词和句型:what is the weather like in...?/how is the weather in...? 教师通过提示新单词的词性引导学生归纳出名词转换为形容词的规律。学生通过二人小组的角色扮演活动完成对语言的初步认知。

  go for it!七年级下册unit 9主要涉及三方面的内容,一是语法层面上的,即复习巩固现在进行时的用法;二是语言功能层面上的,即打招呼的新的句型:howis it going?;三是语言知识层面上的,即城市以及城市的天气。而这三方面的内容在课本上是交织出现的,分成section a和section b两大部分。我没有按照教材安排的顺序来设计教学,而是将现在进行时和打招呼的那个句型用三节课的时间进行了复习整理,给学生一个完整的时态,尤其是现在进行时的概念。然后将城市和天气整合到两个课时。课例所展示的是第一个课时。

  在这节课里主要有三个方面的内容:一是城市的拼写,尤其是国外的城市,读音和拼写都比较难;二是温度的拼写;三是天气状况的写法。教学重点和难点是新单词的学习和掌握,问天气的两个句型。在这节课的新单词教学中,我仍然像往常一样,利用多媒体展示图片和单词,在教单词的同时复习音标并学习句型:how is the weather?/what's the weatller 1ike?由于这10个新单词中有5个是学过的(这里以不同意义的单词出现),因此教单词所用的时间相对会少些。而且在句型的操练上,学生也显得比较有信心,说得很好。在后半段时间,学生主要是根据我的指示完成一个天气报告的任务。这需要学生进入这个网站去查当天各个城市(分为世界,中国,广东,韶关四个组)的天气情况,全班有四个大组,每组都有自己相应的任务。最后,每组派一个代表做报告,其他小组的同学进行记录并重复这个报告供能力稍差的同学进行自我检查。家庭作业就是把各个小组的报告综合起来,写成书面报告。总的看来,这个任务对学生的信息素养(搜索信息的能力)、学科知识(地理)整合能力以及语言学习应用能力(读,说,听,写)都有相应的训练。

  其实这也是英语课堂第二次使用网络进行上课,学生在电脑旁边上课觉得很兴奋,他们有一种强烈的用电脑和网络进行英语学习的欲望。但在这节课里,学生使用电脑和网络的时间并不长,只有8分钟左右,这个时间显得稍微短了些。按照分层教学的原则,我应该在第一个任务中的二人小组活动中让英语水平较高的同学利用网站上的信息进行对话,在目标语言相对简单的情况下,大部分的学生都应该能完成这个任务的,而不是所有的同学都是利用powerpoint上的图片信息进行对话。可能是我还不大相信他们的能力,怕他们会乱用电脑,影响教学的秩序和进度。

  在任务纸的设计方面,我的原意是为了方便学生,把所有的关于天气和城市的单词都列出来了,学生只需在表格里填写就行了。后来才想到城市名字的拼写是一个重点兼难点,他们必须在一开始接触的时候就有正确拼写的练习机会。而这个机会被老师剥夺了,因此他们的笔头报告出现了相当多的不规范的书写。另外,由于我已经给出了城市的名字,因此他们在选择信息的时候受到了限制。他们只能选择这几个城市而不能选择他们感兴趣的城市。对某些学生来说,老师提供的城市数量太少了,他们本来可以完成更多的信息记录的。因此,我应该在设计的时候给他们提供一些城市参考,另外给他们更多的空间去填写他们感兴趣的城市。这才是网络的优势所在。

  因此,在今后的教学中,作为教师应该更相信学生的能力,将信息技术的最大优势在任务型语言教学中发挥出来。有了信息技术的支撑,任务型语言教学将可以在更加真实更加生活化的情境中应用。
